Welcome!

I am a PhD scholar at the Faculty of History, University of Cambridge. I am also a GATES Cambridge scholar (2024 cohort) enrolled at Trinity College, Cambridge. I have been a Fellow at the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland, since 2023.

My field specialisations are labour history, economic history, and history of capitalism, and I am focusing on the automobile industry of mid-20th and 21st-century India. I am deeply engaged with philosophical and methodological interventions in history and social sciences, grappling with questions on production regimes and the complexities of capital-labour relations, modes of production, movements, and resistance. I am theorising a robust framework to study labour lives and develop our understanding of labour history and the development of capitalism.

I have been previously awarded the History Project grant jointly by Harvard University, the University of Cambridge, and the Institute of New Economic Thinking. This grant supported my historical project on labour processes in the Indian automobile industry, which focused on archival research and oral history to uncover significant historical insights. I regularly publish articles and chapters on labour, social, and economic concerns. My recent work (with Roshni Yadav) on "Local Government Regulations and the Dispossession of Urban Informal Vendors in Delhi, India" was published in Mapping Legalities by Routledge. The publication blog can be found here. Based on our findings, I am advocating for the improvement of the lives of street vendors in urban Delhi. The blog on advocacy can be found here. Please check my research works and publications here

I also regularly write blogs, which can be found here
